Cloud Computing has become a topic of interest in recent years, surrounded with lots of opportunities,
hypes, challenges, risks etc. and it has a great impact on businesses and the way they operate, and a
high impact on technology and the way applications are being developed, deployed and managed.
In this presentation, we will have an overview of the cloud computing, its usage scenarios, architecture,
building blocks (Virtualization Technology in particular).
Services of the cloud will also be presented (SaaS, IaaS, PaaS, XaaS etc.); and then we shall discuss the
cloud computing players in commercials and open source worlds, and give an overview of the
opportunities that developers seize and learn from when the transformation and movement to the cloud
take place, and we shall shed some light on Java combined with the cloud and give an overview about
SpringSource CloudFoundry, the enterprise java cloud project.
Will end up presenting a use case that has been implemented in our company to get best use of the
cloud computing in our organizations and see the pros and cons of having a cloud setup in enterprises
along with the trends and challenges associated with the cloud.
